WingTsun
What
is Wing Tsun Kung Fu?
Wing Tsun is self
defense in its most uncompromising form.
Wing Tsun skills
are built on the student's present abilities. Muscle power and conditioning
are not prerequisites for training. Wing Tsun teaches a readiness to
"listen" to one's body, to know one's strengths, and to use
them rigorously when required. The power of Wing Tsun is to sharpen
one's perception in a well-coordinated manner.
When men and women
learn Wing Tsun, they develop a fresh, new awareness of their body and
a heightened sense of confidence in all situations. This confidence,
born of knowing one's capabilities, is acquired through intensive, regular,
professional instruction.
Wing Tsun - A game
of Chess for Body and Mind
This newly acquired
confidence and self-awareness leads to an increased sense of well being
on all levels. Former personal limitations no longer restrict one's
everyday life. Life becomes fuller, more satisfying. Students of Wing
Tsun no longer feel like victims. This power alone lessens the likelihood
of being in dangerous situations.
Should a threatening
situation arise, WT students now command a highly effective, weaponless
method of defending themselves and loved ones. Wing Tsun absorbs the
attacker's energy, compounds it with the defender's own power, and directs
it with increased ferocity against the offender.
The Wing Tsun principles
are similar to the game of chess. The chess player is at one with his
pieces and instinctively knows his or her opponent's next move.
A Wing Tsun student acts likewise; in action the student can "feel"
an opponent's intentions and put sharpened reflexes to immediate use.

Wing Tsun
- Freedom Through Self-Defense
Wing Tsun improves
the practitioner's existing strengths and sharpens their powers of perceptions.
Once known, one's capabilities can be confidently put to use. Persons
who learn Wing Tsun learn to know themselves. Wing Tsun never attacks
- it is aggressive only in defense.
Wing Tsun is a method
for inner growth and a way to a carefree, relaxed, and a healthy lifestyle.
Wing Tsun - At The
Cutting Edge For Over 250 Years
Wing Tsun means
personal growth. Students are taught in groups, yet guided individually.
The individual's existing strengths are improved and consolidated.
Wing Tsun is non-violent.
Our instructors
are against any aggressive form of behavior. Wing Tsun is pure self-defense.
WT is fun: WT instructors
impart their knowledge in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
WT is intense and
challenging. The ability to defend one's self is acquired through focused,
regular practice.
Wing Tsun - Power
Training
At the center of
Wing Tsun training stands a unique and variable technique which is learned
through conscientious practice and purposeful engagement with a partner.
The basic training process teaches specific techniques for relaxation
and concentration. These instructions are complemented with special
breathing techniques for "refueling" the body.
Wing Tsun merges
body and mind into a new powerful unit. Fluent motions and sudden explosive
speed flow together in a systematic, coordinated, spontaneous sequence
of movement. The study of Wing Tsun heightens physical and mental flexibility
while improving awareness of self and environment.

Wing Tsun
- Philosophy in Action
Wing Tsun grew out
of the Taoist tradition in eastern thinking. In Chinese philosophy,
"Tao" means "The Way". It signifies life's eternal
movement of growing, blooming, fading away and never-ending renewal.
To achieve his unity with the Tao, man must become as the Tao: spontaneous,
open, simple, and flexible - not hard and arrogant.
When using Wing
Tsun in self-defense or applying its principles in every day life, one
becomes like a river flowing to the sea. Even if the mountain obstructs
the river's flow, it will not be stopped. It will reach its goal naturally,
unavoidably, while overcoming all obstacles on the way.
